College/University:

Time & Class Size
Short and concise: a six-month,
400-hour accelerated program limited to 12 students. Individualized instruction.

Two to four years of study with 50 or more students in a class.  Professors cannot spend time with each student

Curriculum
A specialized, propriety training program developed by a CPA with over 40 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience.

Colleges courses teach complex, seldom-used theories and transactions related to large corporation most people will never use.

Emphasis
Small business accounting and bookkeeping. Over 90% of all businesses in the US have fewer than twenty employees.

Emphasis is on 'big business.'  Only two percent of all businesses in the US have more than 100 employees.

Focus
Practical, 'real-world' training utilizing true-to-life business documents, 10-key, manual and computerized accounting systems.

Colleges concentrate on theory instead of practical issues.  They don't teach you how to do a payroll, billing, 10-key, etc.

Instructors
Trainers are seasoned professionals with years of broad-based, real-world accounting experience.

Professors are academically oriented with limited practical, real-world experience out in the field.

Materials
Real-world training materials, business documents, hand-posted journals, ledgers, manual practice sets, etc.  Plus multiple QuickBooks™ and Peachtree™ computer practice sets.

Colleges require expensive textbooks, case studies, etc. focused primarily on large companies.  Full-charge accounting and bookkeeping is not a priority.

Results
You quickly gain the knowledge and skills to start your own home-based bookkeeping service and/or get a great entry-level job in accounting.

After two to four years of college, you'll still enter the field at an entry or trainee level and not have the basic skills to perform well.
